Duke & Dexter

Challenge

Duke + Dexter is a London footwear label known for handcrafted loafers, sold in over 120 countries and stocked at Harrods, Selfridges and Nordstrom. The challenge was its first bag. The Marshall had to be genuinely practical, carry the same attention to detail as the loafers, and sit credibly next to a product line customers already trust. Leather goods are unforgiving. Softness, structure and hardware show immediately, and a first bag from a footwear brand gets judged against everything that came before it.

Goal

Our role was to develop and produce the Marshall through to finished goods. We focused on two areas: a vegetable-tanned leather, washed for softness and a vintage feel, that still holds its shape through daily use; and the details that make it Duke + Dexter, including the brass Plus clasp, tassel and customisable pins. Cotton lining with zip and open pockets was built in for everyday function. One team handled development, technical and supply chain, giving the brand a single point of contact from start to finish.

Result

The Marshall launched as Duke + Dexter’s first bag. It is relaxed but structured, made for daily use, with the brand’s signature elements intact. It earns the same attention as the loafers. A single partner for development and production opened a new category for the brand without adding complexity to its supply chain.
